Traffic Safety in Japan
In order to live in Japan safely, you must make sure to follow the traffic rules in Japan.
In Kagawa, there are many traffic accidents involving university students each year.
The educational affairs section of the engineering campus distributes brochures for non-Japanese students, which explains traffic safety in Japan. The brochures are available in Chinese, English and Japanese. Please come to the educational affairs section if you need a copy.
Followings are the main insurances that university recommends for students. If you are not insured with proper policies, the university will not be able to support you much in case of unexpected events.
-National health insurance (compulsory for those who stay in Japan for one year or longer)
-Automobile liability insurance and voluntary automobile insurance (compulsory for those who drive car or motor bike in Japan)
-Life insurance by university co-op
-Personal accident insurance for students pursuing education and research
-Comprehensive renters insurance for foreign students studying in Japan
(for those who live in rented apartment)
